Ecuadorean Coastal Tours visit NORTH ...part 2

VISITING JAMA....
text: Richard Parker

For a brief vacation this Holiday weekend in Ecuador I traveled up to Jama which is north of Canoa by an hour. Like always I found Jama very laid back and "tranquilo" as there are only a few small restaurants and no entertainment to speak of. This fit bill for one day though as I was there looking for farmland which is abundant in that area.  We were lucky to find a 3,500 acre tract right on the river that has belonged to the same family for over 40 years. This is important because there are many farms out there that are in the names of many families and you can almost never untangle the mess. It may also come back to haunt you in years to come when out of the blue you get a lawsuit for property you stole from the rightful owner. After a quick title search in Jama to ensure our farmer is the proper owner, we headed back to Canoa to celebrate “The Battle of Pichincha”

By the way, I have several friends with large plots of land overlooking the ocean in this area also. One is John Lochnicht who owns Vista Azule properties. See him on Facebook...

enjoy the pictures..

A beautiful farm with a river running thru it.

This is a working farm with 600 dairy cattle.

Hostal Baloo owned by Phillipe is now for sale in Canoa. See on our website:

Owners of La Vista Hostal pose in the bar of their beautiful building right on the beach in Canoa. More to come on their listing and life in Canoa...See this and more at www.ecuadoreancoastalproperties.com

Breakfast at Tiffanies. Well, ok it is at Hostal Baloo for only $3.50 with great coffee included. My good friend Daniel from Texas enjoys it to the last drop.
